BRECKON landdesign created two conceptual designs for this proposed 48-acre regional park in West Meridian that focused on active recreation facilities for softball, soccer, lacrosse, pickle ball, and other court sports.
Both concepts also integrated an off-leash dog area, restrooms and picnic shelters, a playground and splash pad, community gardens, and parking and maintenance facilities to serve these uses.
Ten Mile Creek, which runs along the north side of the property, allowed for development of a pedestrian pathway and easy connection to the Meridian pathway system at large. The designs capitalized on water as an amenity, not only along the creek, but with a recreational fishing pond that doubled as storage for irrigation surface water.
BLD hosted and facilitated a community meeting to present these concept plans to the public and also provided visual summaries of public comments.
