Preliminary Concepts | Design Development | Cost Estimation | LEED Design | Drought-Tolerant Planting Design | Public Art Coordination | Illustrative Rendering | Construction Administration
Project Description
As part of the Cole Architects design team, BRECKON landdesign provided site plans for upgrades to two existing fire stations in Boise. Architectural and site improvements for both projects were designed to LEED Platinum standards.
Landscape architectural scope of work included design of a small pedestrian plaza for each station per City of Boise requirements. BLD staff worked with local artists to integrate thematically appropriate art pieces with the plazas.
Planting design featured demonstration garden areas to educate the public on fire-wise and drought-tolerant plants and their use in urban landscapes. BLD also provided grading and drainage design, coordination of approvals and permitting with local agencies, cost estimating, and construction administration.
