Project Description
BRECKON landdesign teamed with Insight Architects to provide landscape architecture and civil engineering services for this climbing gym located on a 3.5 acre site in Meridian, Idaho, directly adjacent to Interstate 84. The project required coordination with the Idaho Transportation Department, Ada County Highway District and City of Meridian representatives. The large parking area was designed with 159 total vehicles with six accessible spaces. Wrought iron, vinyl and chain link fence separate the facility from busy Overland Road and I-84. Site features include ADA compliant walkways, ramps and curbs. Large boulders at the front entry provide visual interest and serve as bollards to prevent vehicle traffic. Catch basins retain stormwater on site, and hardscape includes concrete flatwork, asphalt and concrete unit pavers. A fire pit was also included for an outdoor social gathering space.
