BRECKON landdesign teamed with Myers Anderson Architects to complete landscape and irrigation design for an addition to the existing fire station at the Orchard Combat Training Center in Kuna, Idaho. The site features native and drought-tolerant plants and trees, with sandstone boulders, crushed basalt mulch, angular basalt rock and river rock. A dry river bed detail with sand trench provides visual interest at the perimeter of the building and also directs water away from the structure. Drip irrigation provides efficient watering for plants and trees on site. The project was designed to achieve LEED® certification.
