Accessibility Improvements | Irrigation Design | Seating and Stone Walls | Water Access | Picnic Areas | ADA Dock and Kayak Launch
Project Description
BRECKON landdesign teamed with RIVHAB, LLC and the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation on planning, design and construction of improvements to Discovery Park, located in Lucky Peak State Park near the base of the Lucky Peak Dam. The primary purpose of this project was to repair the eroded shoreline access, further stabilize the banks of the Boise River, and provide water access for additional recreation activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking. The project includes new, ADA compliant parking, pathways and boat launch, a new dock and kayak/canoe ramp for water access, a terraced stone seating area, a new picnic area, an enhanced sandy beach, and improvements to existing landscaping and irrigation. The BLDi scope of work includes site design concepts, cost estimating, and design of all landscaping, irrigation, concrete flatwork, seating and stone wall structures, and water access features. RIVHAB was the project lead and provided civil engineering, bank stabilization design, and construction services on this design/build project.
