BRECKON landdesign teamed with Myers-Anderson Architects to provide landscape and irrigation planning and design services for this new readiness center and vehicle maintenance facility near Jerome. The federally-funded project required compliance with LEED® design guidelines and features dry bed river rock, native dry land meadow grass and perennially flooded grass to comply with those standards. Plants include sagebrush, rabbitbrush, bitterbrush, desert beard tongue, and others that thrive in high desert environments with little to no maintenance. A dry river bed includes small cobbles and native boulders and provides drainage during storm events. The site is irrigated with dripline to minimize water usage.
