Project Description
BRECKON landdesign [BLDi] teamed with Erstad Architects to provide landscape, hardscape and irrigation planning and design services for the new Philip E. Batt Education Building at the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights in downtown Boise. The site design includes detailed road frontage plans for 8th and 9th street, tree/stormwater cells at public sidewalks, geothermal plan and profile, a pondless waterfall, cut sandstone benches and CMU block wall planters, engraved donor pavers, and public art. Water-wise trees and shrubs were selected and drip irrigation systems minimize unnecessary water use. Materials were chosen to create a seamless transition between the adjacent Anne Frank Memorial and Marilyn Shuler Learning Pavilion, also completed by Erstad and Breckon Land Design.
